The boom in mobile technologies and smartphones in the Asian region alone has been remarkably significant and is a driving force behind the development of the mobile wallet as the payment method of choice in Asia. Banks, network service providers, handset manufacturers and applications developers are all very interested in examining the developments and implications of this latest trend in payment methods in the Asian financial services industry.
