A Workshop on Building Technology & Operations for Senior Management
A workshop presented jointly with Singapore Management University
Wednesday, 19 March 2008 • 8:30am – 10:30am
Brief Description:
Over a 15-month period, the School of Information Systems at the Singapore Management University consulted extensively with banking Technology & Operations executives on major issues and challenges faced when strengthening their people to take on more senior management responsibilities. This also included attracting and retaining talents for the bank technology function.
This effort resulted in the co-design of a professional Masters programme between SMU and the banking industry, specifically targeted to meet the dynamic needs of grooming senior managers in Technology & Operations for the financial services industry.
Key Objectives:
- Shed insight on the key industry issues and trade-offs identified in the design of the programme
- Summarize the final programme design and share recent operational experience
- Examine "industry participation models," based on realities of how banking organizations are willing to participate
- Discuss the future direction of the programme and what this means for the industry as well as for SMU

Brief Description:
Complementing The Asian Banker Summit in 2008, we have organised a one-day briefing and tour of two leading Vietnamese banks (for bankers from outside Vietnam), which has demonstrated leadership in several important areas of banking.
The Tour is for banks from outside of Vietnam which are already registered for one or more of the three anchor conferences. In order to secure a place on the Tour, Summit participants are encouraged to register their attendance early.
This is an excellent opportunity for senior bankers to witness current developments in the domestic financial institutions that operate in this sizzling emerging market.
